A tattie scone is made with mashed potato (potato and butter (no milk is used) with salt to taste) and plain flour is added to make it into a dough which is then rolled out and put on a grill to cook.

its kind of like a biscuit they are very GOOD IF made right I have at least four different types of scone recipes all are good buttermilk ones made on a griddle are the best they are made with flour ,buttermilk ,salt , pinch of sugar , butter and cream of tartar
