That opens up a whole new level of the discussion - as a society we continually try to legislate social norms and appropriate behavior.

Prayer at school activities is a prime example, having just seen an expose' about a football team that can no longer run through a good luck banner that had a Scripture verse on it (despite there being no objection other legal risk to the district - which could also put certain funding at risk, which is probably the REAL bottom line.)

Was it inappropriate for that group to run through the banner? Did they mandate any student run through who was otherwise uncomfortable with doing so? Were cheerleaders forced to paint Scripture verses against their own moral code or be booted off the squad? Were they forcing anyone to interpret those words as Sacred and thereby causing offense?

I'm amazed by the poor level of tolerance we allow for others as we try to define and make everything "appropriate."
