so when you find out a movie or show is based on a novel, do you go out and buy the novel?

I usually catch a book before its adapted for screen in any way but sometimes i won't and i'll buy the book to see the differences... compare which i like more.. and sometimes.. just sometimes.. the screen is better to me.

I usually have the books first, but in the case of Twilight, I saw the movie and then grabbed the books.

Depends on the movie.
If I had seen the movie "The Kite Runner" first, I would not have read the book.

I saw the movie "Planet of The Apes" and read the book after. The book was superior to the movie.

The book is one of the best I have read. The movie sucked.
His second book "A Thousand Splendid Suns" is equally as good. Both books deal with very tragic stories, beautifully told.

EDIT to my first post: The original "Planet of The Apes" was an excellent movie, and I knew by that time that the book would be probably be much better and it was.
