Hi flowerforyou

I would use proper sentence structure for your essay -- especially if you are a teacher. Even though you specialize in math, I would think you have a higher accountability to grammar than someone who is not a teacher. tongue2 winking What you have written is good though! You seem kind and honest in what you seek.

Change your main pic to a close-up of your face. Your main pic is the gateway to whether a lady will view your profile. Your current main is not clear and too distant.

You have been here since the beginning of Oct? Ooooh, patience my friend.

For everyone, replies are in small amounts compared to contacts. Continue to be proactive, send thoughtful messages, and relax.

Enjoy!

Hard to top that.

I think Melody should rate EVERYONE's profile.

Except for mine, because then I would have to change it.

blushing laugh Thank you!

It's kind of a curse really; a combination of my own attempt perfectionism and my work as an English intern so long ago. I can't turn it off! laugh I love editing/writing text for websites and resumes though. I make a little extra money by contracting as a copywriter (moonlighting is fun). I also write my own ad copy for my fitness business site and proposals. I save a few bucks!

Yeaaaa! HUGE difference!!!

I have one more suggestion to help increase your searches and how you can show up in more searches. Ready?

Everyone should read this! laugh

When you view your profile or others' – you will see the subtitle "Interests" and then the orange descriptive words. That is actually a search function!

If you don't use one word descriptions followed by the comma: yoga, baseball, fishing, cooking -- etc, then the function will not find the exact match of other members who also list the same interests.

In addition, those words are hyper links. When in profile view, if you click one of your interests, the system will search other members with that same interest and show the results.

If you use sentence-like descriptors like, "hanging out with my friends" it's doubtful that is like anyone else and will not yield results. Use only one word, or two if the interest is a proper title like San Diego.

Try it!!!

Edit your profile and go to the 'Interest' field. Put in a few more interests; save; view your profile and then click your descriptors. See how many new profiles you see!!

For more common hobbys, like wine, you can get a lot of profiles but for less common stuff, like Vegan, you may get only a few but at least you know they have that commonality!

BTW, great job and love the new main pic!!!! flowers

Some how your pictures don't match your profile. Photos are dark and brooding and the profile mellow and middle of the road. You are a nice looking guy but a smile would really warm up your responses. With three jobs I would wonder when you would find time for a relationship. The advice to include interests is good. Somehow it is hard to strike up a conversation about math. Do be patient and join in the forums. It does get your picture out there a LOT more.

Well, it is definitely needed these days. My grandmother was an English teacher, so I grew up with my grammar being corrected, all the time. I didn't appreciate it until I had kids of my own. Thankfully, my ex-wife was an English major in school and now is a teacher, so my kids don't get any breaks, in either household.laugh

Sorry, Randy, off topic.

But your profile looks better already. PacificStar had some good advice as well.

Be patient. It takes some time and effort, on this site, to meet anyone.
