I tend to agree. I don't hate the man...but isn't he sending MORE troops to the Middle East. Didn't he tick off Iran after their voting???? didn't the US puff out their chests with N Korea. and I believe he blow off England Prime Minister when he came to the US to visit??? and I believe there were others as well

There is a tiny thingy problem here.

The deadline for nominations was February 1 -- just 10 days after Obama took office.

Whether he has done good or bad in the past months, that's a different topic, he was only in office for 10 days, when he was already nominated.

So basically view it as an encouragement? But then..the Nobel Peace Prize doesn't make sense to others who truly did a lot (decades of work) and then got the price.


Anyway...It's up to these Norwegians, not USA or anyone else so if they think they'll give their award, then let it be...Norway is still a kindgom, ruled by a king (FYI).

Certainly Obama does not deserve a Noble Peace Prize . He did nothing of any magnitude to be awarded such a reward . Many countries around the world send delegates to lobby for this prize for political reasons . In fact they spend on lobbying more than the prize is worth . Obama did not change the secratary of defence Robert Gates and many of G.W. Bush appointees . He did not end the wars in both Iraq and Afghanistan . He di not close GITMO.....etc .
It seems to even to the politically blind that Obama is following the nasty steps of his predecessor G.W. Bush .I give the Noble Peace Prize to the Peace Movement whose members get thrown in jails, beaten by police.....etc . Who do you think should get the prize ?.
