you may have noticed that the Cookie Monster puppet (or muppet) has gone from downing twenty cookies in two seconds flat to devouring carrots, celery and apples. In other words, he's gone healthy. Whoopi had this to say about the new 'healthier' Cookie Monster:

One of the most notable changes is the Cookie Monster won't be allowed to eat all the cookies he wants to anymore.

"We are not putting him on a diet, and we would never take the position of no sugar," said Rosemarie T. Truglio, the show's vice president of research and education, in an MSNBC article. "We're teaching him moderation."

PETITION TO CHANGE THE NAME OF SESAME STREET CHARACTER 'VEGGIE MONSTER' BACK TO 'COOKIE MONSTER' AFTER IT WAS CHANGED BY PBS

The soccer moms have done it again. Faced with arguments that 'cookie monster,' a sesame street character who loves (or loved, until the producers snatched them away and replaced them with fresh greens,)cookies, was promoting childhood obesity. These arguments, no doubt, came from the same parents who gained 250 pounds on Mcdonalds food, sued it for making them fat, and failed, much to the pleasure of the rest of us.
