okay so i have an interview in santa monica on monday. i live like an hour and a half away.

1. get job.

2. find place to live like yesterday.

3. learn metro/bus system of LA.

4. make #3, #1.

5. Pray to god that my overbearing mother doesn't find a way to stop me.

This is the game plan for my immediate life.

Any suggestions as to how i'm supposed to accomplish this?

First

Take some time and breathe !!!

Put each thing in order of importance

Then do each one till accomplished

It will go fast and orderly if you remain calm through all of it!!

Good luck !!!

As for mom

Oh god I'm a mom of 4 girls

They just tell me to keep quiet and let them do what they have to!!

So I sit on my hands and bite my tounge till it bleeds

But they get it done!!

Good luck:heart:

Dedicated determination, commitment, perseverance, owning your power, force field up and on, will power, and true grit ...

Bring the target to you ... I believe in you! ... Now, it is your turn to also!

... GL and infinite blessings upon your dreams and goals, RECEIVE them ... drinker

It's only a proper noun if you believe in "it". laugh

Reminds me of the new commercial for Dr. Pepper. There is a meeting of "I Exist Support Group" to include the Easter Bunny, an alien, Santa Claus, a Leprechaun, etc. None of them really exist either so toss in religion too! laugh

Oh my, the Easte Bunny is so cute with his crossed eyes and lisp!! laugh "That is good!" laugh

Sorry for being off topic.

BobbySocks, I wish I knew how to help you.

My mom was evil and dictated also. I moved. I took her out of my life for 6 years until she realized the problem. That solution is not for everyone.

Get the job!

Learn to get to the job via public transport!

Save money and move!

Be strong and let all her "schmutz" roll off you until you can move!

I wish you strength and patience! flowerforyou

All I can help with is #3.
My daughter lives in LA and I love her dearly.
She is very smart but not a lot of common sense.
If she can figure out the metro/bus system anyone can laugh

Hope that helps flowerforyou

Good Luck to you!

I am sure I will go to hell for this one....(actually, for a lot of other things too)

Slip a ruffie into your moms drink....while she is knocked the hell out....get your game on. When she wakes up...you may have your life where you want it without her help/hinderance.

If that is too over the top...you may just consider popping by before the job interview...when she opens the door..zap her with a tazer...THEN go do what you need to do to get yourself where you need to be.

I am sure your mom is a lovely woman....but, she ain't the one in your shoes....if she ain't the solution...she is part of the problem.

I have no doubt that she would disagree.

Just my two cents. (I am actually leaning away from the tranquilizer gun cause they leave mean bruises that are awfully hard to explain away)

Best of luck Bobbysox.

Just don't let anything stand in your way for what you want. Go for it.

If possible be in Santa Monica by Sunday for interview Monday. If you know someone in Santa Monica call them asap. If possible forget the bus system for a few days take a taxi. Apply for more than one job while you are in Santa Monica. Read all the classifieds on the internet for housing on the busline and other jobs there. flowerforyou flowerforyou

I always seem to have this dilemna. Get the job, then move where the job is, or move there, then get the job. For me, it's always a chicken or the egg question.
