Glad you asked, unfortunately, alot of women, maybe not you, but the status quo thinks a smart man has a white shirt, pocket protector, and glasses with black frames and tape in the middle. Couldn't be farther from the truth. I have a an ex who thinks I don't know where she's living right now, and within 30 seconds on the internet, I knew where she was living, her criminal record, who she owed money to, where she worked, who she's living with, and much more. Don't ever underestimate the intelligence of a man.

Um, okay.....however, no one was discussing intelligent men. We were joking about nerds, you can be a nerd and be dumb as a post, trust me on this. And no one ever described a nerd's attire. I am well aware that intelligent men come in all packages, just like dumba$$e$ come in all packages. I just wondered why you felt it was necessary to bring that up, since it's totally irrelevant to the conversation and to post a pic of that guy. Unless you consider him to be attractive or something, in which case, I have to disagree, because he's sooooo not my type.

okay, so you don't like tom selleck, that's okay. My point is, that alot of women have a stereotype of what a smart man is and what a bad boy is. Sometimes you can have both in the same package. As to nerds, you are right, some are dumber than they look, some are smarter than they look. The key here is not to judge appearance as a qualifier to the overall package which includes intellect and emotional stability. Now if you're into the one night thing, then by all means, lower your standards.

Whatever dude. I just wondered why you posted that pic.sick

As for my tastes in men, hopefully no one on the entire site gives a crap what kind of man I like, especially since it's none of their business.

Yep, no one knows what kind of man you like, but what I was bringing to the table was don't presume to know what a stereotype looks like. That is the trap I've seen so many people fall into. All men are this. All white men are this. All black men are this. All Latino men are this. etc. etc. Get to know the person first then make your own judgement. Too bad so many are led like sheep in believing what society expects them to like, rather than making their own independent decision. That's where I'm going with this. God bless.happy

Hell, if you are going to post a pic of a BAD BOY who is also smart – as in "don't judge a book by it's cover" -- then use Jesse James as your example!! DUH! slaphead

Jesse James: juvenile delinquent (gave his mother hell) but parlayed his energy and intelligence into an empire of building bikes, his own reality show Monster Garage, and he married Sandra Bulluck.

Now this is a CURRENT example of your point!

Dude, you're missing the point. Me and Southern_Bee were joking about nerds. No one said anything derogatory about nerds. No one said anything complimentary about nerds. No one was putting any sort of man down, so I just wondered why you felt it was necessary to make that post, let alone to post a pic of Tom Selleck, which as Melody has been so kind to point out, is hugely outdated. I don't think Tom Selleck even acts anymore, so why he was brought up, I don't know. It didn't make sense to me, so I asked you why. Usually when I see a post that I consider to be weird in some way, I just ignore it, but this time, I wanted to give you a chance to explain yourself. I still don't understand, but I gave you a chance.

If you just felt a need to contribute to the conversation, it would have been helpful if you had said something relevant that could have been tied in some way. Instead it was totally random and caught everyone off guard. And then it seems as if you feel that all men are being attacked in some way, which is also not true. I have nothing against men, as long as they're not annoying me or harassing me or assuming I should want to interact with them, just because they consider themselves a nice guy, or trying to make me do something that grosses me out. As long as a man doesn't do that, he's cool with me.

So where this alleged man-bashing and judging, and lecturing on who I should view as a decent person and whatever is coming from, yeah I don't get that. But whatever. I'm off this thread now, so you can continue to post your misguided comments, and keep accusing people of doing things they're obviously not, but I won't be reading it. I come on these forums to chat with people I know, and comment on interesting/funny posts, not to exchange heated comments about subjects that I really don't care about. And who someone finds attractive is a perfect example of something I really don't care about. Like I said earlier, it's no one's business on this site what kind of man I find attractive, so I don't discuss it, and I certainly don't defend it with strangers.

I hope you can find some inner peace and work on how you see women, because you seem to be pretty tormented and you're projecting it onto people who haven't wronged you and who don't even know you. That's called paranoia, and it can be dangerous as well as isolating. Not every female is your enemy, no matter what other women did to you in the past. Good luck in the future.flowerforyou

I'm having a hard time seeing the trouble with this headline. The "Girl Next Door" is usually your down-to-earth type. The one who is realistic, easy to get along with, not high maintenance.
Looks to me like his tag line is just a quick way to say what he's looking for. It's no different then us girls and out "Looking for prince charming" tag lines.

i hit prince charming over the head with a frying pan and now holding him hostage for a ransom

Nice!!!! Now bind and gag him and force him into your armchair while you read him a book of poetry.

no ill just play lady gaga over and over

Make sure it's Paparazzi.

HI! flowerforyou

I butted in the conversation -- and I have no clue as to what you guys are debating -- but what I did notice is the odd reference to Tom Selleck.

Glad you like my better example of a 'bad boy' even though I don't know to what discussion this applies!

Neither do I, that's why I'm off the conversation, if I wanted to have a rambling debate with a bitter man, I can walk outside my front door and do it in person- and in stereo.....
