It's the kind where the man is a gentleman; he tells you how beautiful you look, he opens the door for you, he pulls out your chair and stands until you sit/or stands until you're standing, you don't even have to think about paying for anything, and at the end of the night he doesn't expect or assume that he's having sex with you, instead, he tells you what a great time he had with you and wants to know if it's o.k. to call you again...

I have had many of these and I will say that being treated like a lady goes a long way in my eyes.

Very true!!!!!

You mean like courting? Wouldn't we allsmitten

Sign me up! drinker

I would love to avoid hearing "hang out" or "chill" or the WORST usage of the meaning "to date someone" (referring to two people who are dating -- they are "talking" WTF is that??? grumble ). frustrated

Please romance me (my idea of romance is not like most), use extreme social refinement (genteel), and don't act like a monkey's azzzz. winking

My idea of a date is usually dinner, music, drinks, and conversation.

Sometimes it is an "activity" like a party, a picnic, or some event.

I make sure all of my dates wear yellow boots for starters ... tongue2

For the first few dates and maybe even into a month, I am not a fan of going to the movies. At home DVDs are a little better since you can talk and relate to one another but "the movies" won't allow conversation and eye contact.

Dinner, drinks, pool/shuffle board/darts, sports events (FOOTBALL drool ), biking, hiking, indoor rock climbing, roller blading, working out in general, museums, wine tasting, motor sports, art auctions/festivals ... *gasps to take a breath* ...

I actually have a date tomorrow!! I know -- big surprise!!

We are going to the Rhythm and Ribs Festival. I am a vegetarian but there is lots of food for me too. BBQ rib cook off, breweries galore, 6 bands, and a whole lot of fun! drinks

The bands are all cover bands for music that I do not like but who cares! It will become background at that point. Without having to go look, cover bands for: The Doors, Bruce Springsteen, The Police, The Doobie Brothers and two others of the genre. That’s too “old people” music for me but fun nonetheless!! He is 30 years old and likes that music, so there ya go!! This is our third date too. Uh oh! scared
