If the heart is always true online
then why is it so hard to portray in the "face to face?"

Is it hard to do? I don't think it is if one remains true to one's self.

Hi, Fanta.waving

Are you true winx?

Online, we only get to know a glimpse into others lives. We see only what they are willing to share, and some find it easy to share the good but hide what turns people off.

Face to face we can see each other, warts and all, and find that even though they were telling the truth, it was a sliver of the truth. And that the lie of omission was as bad as an outright lie.

If you were to ask the Mingle members who have met me face to face, I hope they will tell you I am the same in person as I am in my typing.

Thought provoking.

I SEE A FACE,

Online dating is just a social network to meet people we normally wouldn't have the opportunity to meet (geography, happenstance, etc) otherwise.

I prefer the word 'genuine' since I equate the superlative 'real' in reference to organic material vs. synthetic or man vs. machine.

Yes. I am genuine; I am heartfelt; and I am the same online as I am in person. I don't use the internet vehicle for the purposes of creating deceit, fantasy or pathology in order to hurt people or to fool them.

I have met many people from online networks and dating sites. In the case of dating, I am obdurate about meeting in-person as some point -- otherwise, what is the point? As for my friendships, I enjoy being pen pals with many.

OK,
so let's say that what you and Captain have is real.
Isn't what the happiness you proclaim and testify too a rarity?
An illusion of sorts?

And if so being,
are you really just being a false prophet of hope to the rest of us?
A dishonest apparition of reality?

After years of searching I can honestly say yes.

I am who I am.
true to myself and those I meet.
I care not for popularity nor public opinion.

I know my soul and search for the truth in the souls I encounter.

What Jon and I have is most definitely real and I don't think it too much of a rarity. Although the divorce rate around 50%, the others have the same kind of relationship he and I have. They just don't talk about it on dating sites.

I am not selling an illusion or being a false prophet of hope. I feel that there really IS someone out there for everyone but the real issue is just how hard are "you" willing to work at that relationship.

We work hard at keeping our relationship strong and believe me, things can get tough being this far away from each other. We have always been honest and straight-forward with each and that is what helps us.

People on-line have a habit of falling in "love" with a picture, an image of someone and proclaim it from the rooftops before they find out the little hidden "truths" that wasn't listed on a profile. They are the ones who are the false prophets of hope, IMO.

LOL!

Don't you just love women these days with their fake nails, fake eyelashes, fake boobs, fake hair.... and the first thing they'll tell you is they're looking for a real man!
