I called Jon by my ex-husband's name a few weeks ago....I was answering questions from my Mom, my daughter and Jon, all at once and my brain was scrambled. I just blurted out "Charles just freaking wait!!"
Everyone at Mom's just sat there catching flies....... .....I couldn't apologize enough. |

I have a very good way of avoiding that blunder
Give them all the same pet name such as Petal, or Rosebud or whatever that you please. Make a habit of calling them by that name and you can never ever be wrong |

Hell no.
I make it a point not to involve another person in my life unless I'm ready to move on. I don't try to replace the 'love lost' with someone else. |

Hell no. I make it a point not to involve another person in my life unless I'm ready to move on. I don't try to replace the 'love lost' with someone else. I have moved on a very long time ago, it was that three people were trying to talk to me and I didn't even think when I said that. The ex's name came out because he would always interrupt when I was talking to someone else. |

I have not done that.
A girl I dated just out of college did this to me. And it was F'in hilarious. Her ex's name was John. She was telling me to come into the kitchen to help her do something and I didn't hear her, and she blurted it out - "JOHN" - and I noticed. I said - "what did you just call me?" She knew she said it. She looked like she saw a ghost. She goes, very brilliantly, "John, Johnny Boy, my little Johhny. Have you been a bad Johnny today?" And she started putting her hands up my shirt. She was trying to cover it up. I almost peed myself laughing. I just told her, its okay, you slipped. You were with him a long time, it happened. If you wanted him more than me, then go be with him. I didn't make it into a big deal and after I stopped laughing so hard just gave her a big hug because she felt bad. |

Yes, but only when arguing. Called a gf by an ex gf's name when I was really pi**ed off at something she did. When she questioned it, I said "yeah, that's how annoyed I am, that's something only she would have done"
She saw right through me. Serious apologising. |

Hell no. I make it a point not to involve another person in my life unless I'm ready to move on. I don't try to replace the 'love lost' with someone else. I had moved on so many years before. There was a 12 year break inbetween husbands, to much wine, hadn't slept with any man other than my first husband... Just happened. |
