I majored in the latter. I'd recommend the former, but whatever works. Good luck to you.

ooo that's awesome bigsmile

do tell why you'd recommend psychology what

I think there are more jobs in psychology- as a professor or psychologist- the media field seems to be saturated. At one time, everyone was majoring in that because it was new, but now it's like arghhh!!!

I'm considering going back for a degree in counseling because the one I have now is practically useless.

ohwell

What do you plan to do with it after you finish?

i'm not exactly sure at this point... so many options to choose from in the preliminary research i've done so far, all of which seem so exciting. i'm going to see the career counselor on campus this week to figure things out some more. in my neck of the woods, i don't think it's a saturated field.

who knows though... maybe i'll double major in both... i don't exactly hate psychology but over here it seems everybody and their mother is doing it.... and to pursue a career in the field of psychology you have to attain a masters and higher. ohwell

Well I think I would knock out the Master's in Psychology because the applications are so wide then minor in Media. The feild is very saturated and volitile. I am very impressed you could do well in anything you set your mind too but As smart as you are I would like to see you keep going until you have your Doctorate and live up to your fullest potential which is above the norm.

You really have to evaluate the jobs, I do not know anything about media and communications.
I am a R.N. many, many jobs there but I am going to re-train after 20+ yrs., it has really changed it's not the way it used to be sad2

Yeah, there are tons of jobs in health care. I wish I was smart enough to be a nurse, but I never could learn science.frustrated

You could also consider physical therapy, occupational therapy or radiology.

I'm dating a psychologist. She makes me call her "doctor" and once a week I have to take a personality screening. I think she's still trying to figure out how I am able to function at all in society.

Yeah, someone else just suggested that to me. However, I did some research and found out it's a 2 year program and several weeks of training. I'm going back to become a counselor instead; I can get another master's in less than 2 years, and then later I'll decide what I want a Doctorate in. Thanks though, good advice from everyone.flowerforyou
