Topic: LEPERS THE FOURTEENTH - part 55 | |
---|---|
maybe,, but he would have to use the pistol. he does good with it,, but it aint like a rifle. he dont want to use the russian.
Yeah, but I think any kind of practice would be helpful. And, maybe he could try the Russian out? With some help?
after he saw how it kicked me,, he refused. which i dont really blame him,,, its a big gun. its about like when you fired the .45 and handed it right back to me shaking your head.
hey Thumps we could take a day trip to the mountian and shoot there
Yeah, that's true. Well, I guess we'll see.
thats a thought,, but it would have to be sunday. i did just have a thought though,,, i could buy him a pellet rifle to practice with,, they are not that expensive,, but make him show me how to take care of it before he can actually keep it out of mine or his dads hands.
as far as the russian goes,, hes really not ready for it. he had trouble squeezing the trigger of the 9mm,, and that rifle is not for people just starting out. if he held it wrong it would hurt him, and its hard to do a long gun with 2 people. ill see if he wants to try it, but i will have to find a way to help him with it the whole way,, he CAN NOT hold it by himself and fire it,, i dont want to risk hurting him.
I don't know. Isn't that a lot different than what he'd be using for his marksmanship team?
sunday would be fine with me
marksmanship teams usually use .22 rifles or pistols less kick than a bb gun |
they are going to be using scoped and iron sight bb guns. thats what the sign said in their classroom. but either way, its a way for him to learn to use one responsibly and how to take care of something like that,, it can hurt someone,, but not seriously.
See, you paid more attention at back to school night than I did
I guess it might be a good idea but only if it stays under your or Karl's control. I don't want him having it out when no one's around. |
nah,, he wouldnt,, i will get a trigger lock for it,, his dad will have a key,, and i will have one. that way one of us will have to be around for him to use it.
and its a pellet gun not a bb gun.
I guess we can talk about it later.
yea glass bottles are a tempting target
yes I had to clean up the glass too |
Just as an FYI, rain and mid-60's Saturday, mid-60's and sunny on Sunday.
Great, I get to watch boo's parade in the rain |
you can wear my rain coat, it will keep you warm at least and dry.
as far as targets for Boo, i could get a few milk jugs and fill them with water,, that would do fine for him to shoot, and it wont make a mess if we are outside shooting.
Soda bottles, too. Or cans.
It's supposed to be sunny. We could take a picnic. Maybe there's a grill, we could do some burgers and stuff. |
i could get a camp grill and do them over a fire,, take a cooler and stuff like that. i have targets we can use,, just have to pin them to a tree or something. take some chips or something of that sort.
