Not at all, its a Pa Dutch thing. I always thought it was PA Dutch but my girlfriend grew up in Lancaster and told me its actually a Berks County thing

Betty, what you do is make filling like you would stuff a turkey with. Then make a bowl of mashed potatos but make them a bit soupy. Then fold the filling into the potatos. Top with some pats of butter and pop into the oven till the top is a bit golden. Serve with gravy

Its awesome! Once you have potato filling, plain mashed potatoes just don't cut it anymore. I grew up in Philly and never heard of it til I moved here

Betty, when you make your filling, dont forget to use poultry seasoning, that makes it taste really good

When my son lived in CA last year he was missing them so much he learned to make them.

When it gets a bit cooler I am going to bring up the Kunzler website and order about 20 lbs of their bacon and keep it in the deep freeze here. Yumm-o

When it gets a bit cooler I am going to bring up the Kunzler website and order about 20 lbs of their bacon and keep it in the deep freeze here. Yumm-o Regular or do you get slab bacon

The football coordinator fron the University of CA Berkeley is from Boyertown. When my son was out there interning he was so excited that my son knew about potato filling

Oh my goodness. I like NY style potato salad. I DO NOT like egg in my pot salad, or my macaroni salad. I guess this is because my mom always wanted to put EGG in everything.

Its strange to find folks in another part of the country that know about things you like. I do know that Clover Farms gets requests for their Icey Tea form all over the country.
