I think pills are prolly not as bad for you as the lack of sleep

I take temezapam to sleep. Ambien and Lunesta dont work on me

Hi all!
My sleep goes in cycles. For a few months I'll sleep for about 6 hours straight. Then it changes so that I'll sleep for an hour or two, wake up for an hour or so then fall abruptly asleep again! Gradually I'll ease back into the 6 hours of sleep. It's weird! I'm not sure what causes these sleep cycles but I'm getting used to them. Sometimes fibromyalgia pain keeps me from sleeping well but typically that will just cause me to wake up enough to change my position and then fall back to sleep.
Unfortunately for my friends I keep my phone handy and I sleep text!! I guess that's better than text-driving?!!rofl

It might be purely normal aging for you, but it might also be that you are less in need of stimulants like coffee, tea, or soda, and you just need to cut down on those.
Stress is also commonly increased for us OOF's. Anti-stress strategies might help, including increased use of some vitamins, exercise, etc.
Try those solutions before you go for drugs.

Am I ever going to be able to sleep for 6 hours straight anymore now that I'm over 50? I know I'm sick right now but I can't remember the last time I had 6 hours of straight sleep. I hate taking sleeping pills and the dr keeps telling my hormones are fine - so what gives? I really wouldn't complain if I had some company or something to do, but I am bored to death with being up 20 hours a day. Even my job is slow right now. If I felt better I'd probably work out but with this cold I can't even think about breathing hard. My poor dogs are probably glad when I go to work so they can get some rest - LOL.

Im 56, and normally sleep about 6 hours, but sometimes only 4 or 5, like this morning when I woke up at 4:30 for some reason. I think what your going thru is quite normal. I here if you sleep to much, it's a sign of depression, so we must be real happy !
