Hey everyone,

Just thought I'd post to see what sort of music people on here are in to. (?)

I'm listening to all kinds of stuff at the moment. Really having a bit of a 70s/80s revival at the moment (with a few surprises thrown in):

The Grodeck Whipperjenny, Faust, Can, Rotary Connection, Roy Ayers, The Deviants, The Holy Modal Rounders, Linda Perhacs, Manu Dibango.

Mostly 70s Psyche, Afrobeat, American Soul, Krautrock.

Loving Andy Votel's DJ mixes, too.

I'm into some a lot of the usual suspects, too...but I didn't want to be cliché and just talk about the bands that everyone knows about.

Discuss?

My life has a fantastic soundtrack!

I have music that can take me back to times in my life and gives me a auditory enviroment to feel the way I felt then.

2 sparrows in a hurricane to this day gives me a hard emotional response.

None of us are free by solomon burke is a song that could cause me to weep on the right day.

Music is good therapy for the soul

Theory of a Deadman
Lit
3 Doors Down
Daughtry
David Cook (love him)
Creed
Lifehouse

The list could go on and on and on!!

Nice input, I'll be sure to check out some of those artists. I'm glad people are actually being constructive on this thread - as opposed to writing something disconcertingly vague such as "I listen to good music..."

Whether it's "good" is just one person's perception. I like to keep a very open mind with music. It's good for the soul. Music has taken me through many a good time...and many a bad one.

Listen to 'Psyché Rock' by Pierre Henry - about thirty-seconds in you will likely notice a familiar riff that was respectfully plagiarised in a popular animated TV Show.

If you're looking for something a little smoother, whilst also being funky, try the "Coffy" Soundtrack, by Roy Ayers.

For some very westernised Turkish psychedelic-rock, try Mustafa Ozkent.

For some slick, African funk, try Manu Dibango.

Sorry for the rambling...I'm just really enjoying my music at the moment. Hehe. bigsmile

My current obsession is the "Ambient 4: On Land" lp by Brian Eno.
