Violent Sex Offender to Become an Ordained Minister, CNN Reports Pastor Randy Meadows of the City of Refuge Worship Center in Kentucky welcomes registered sex offender Mark Hourigan to join his church as an ordained minister. Hourigan was charged in 1998 for "sodomizing, sexually abusing, and intimidating" an 11 year old boy, a crime for which he would ultimately serve a 4 year 8 month sentence. God can do whatever he likes thats his business. Its up to us to deal with the here and now. This guy should not be out of prison let alone be a leader at a church. I hope he does not do this again.

all plple that attend church r not like this guy ! some people r really serious and take thier realationship with GOD seriously.........Don't let 1 bad apple spoil it for the whole bunch!

I wonder how people would react to the church for not forgiving or welcoming this guy into the church? seems damned if they do, damned if they don't

I understand that one should forgive, however u don't go stickin the lion back in with the bunny rabbits. Once a pedophile, always a pedophile.

I wouldn't leave my child alone with the man. I'm not naive. But I'm not sure if he would be in a position to be alone with the kids. But the fact is...he "served his time" and is now out.

I'm sure those in this congregation are aware of this...since we all are. They can choose to attend there or not..personally I would choose not.

I thought this was going to be a Catholic thread. With them, it's accepted behavior and they aren't even prosecuted. Well, maybe not the violent part.

Commit an violent crime, and you too can be a minister one day? I understand forgiveness, I have been abused myself. I forgive but I haven't lost my common sense. No he should not be a minister, period. I swear the church gets crazier all the time.

I wasn't directin this at anyone in particular Kim It's a proven fact that a pedophile can't be rehabilitated an therefore should never be allowed back into society.
