I just don't get exactly what the term "soul mate" (also have seen it as sole mate,lol, fishing ?) means. Can anybody explain it to me and does it really exist?

As I understand, it simply means the one person on the whole planet with whom you and that other are the most perfectly matched. The very most suited to be happy for a life time.

Some people think we each get only one soul mate, some like myself believe that you can have more than one. Now there is a topic for discussion!!!!!

Sole mates......its a psycho that expects to walk all over you in a relationship with the soles of their shoes. Soul mates......its a psycho that expects to bleed you dry including sucking every bit of life out of you including your soul.

The whole planet, huh? Then, as I see it, chances are slim to none of ending up with that person. Besides, I don't think perfection exists.

Oh, according to your explanation, I've been with a sole mate too. But because I don't get what the other one is, I don't think I would recognize it if it DID happen

Not everyone does meet there soul mate. Perhaps those that have not are the ones who don't believe such relationships exist?? AND I never said anything about perfect, best possible fit is more like it.

I am joking. I do realize the definition of "soul mate". It may exist for some. But in my personal life and world- it hasn't happened yet. Blessed in life, unlucky in love.

If you've at least experienced love, maybe you aren't so unlucky. Many ppl don't even have that. And blessed in life isn't so bad.

Well, in my case they were indeed one and the same. Not so when first we met but over time we grew from being in love to being also soulmates. Maybe the reason I believe we may have more than one is because it was such a marvelous relationship and I don't want to live the rest of life without something like that back in my life.

Does that mean that everyone has married their soulmate?

I think we have many soul mates..I don't think our "soulmate" is necessarily the love of our life...maybe more like our "twin flame".

I do not think so. We do not beat, cheat on and otherwise abuse a soul mate and we all know how much of that goes on in marriages and other relationships.

Your soul mate is the one person you understand, and who understand you the deepest. It's the person you end up finishing sentences for. It's when you never question their motives, never wonder WHY they do something, because you know them so well, that it's not a mystery for you.
