If someone was disrespectful enough to say something like they were "probably going to come by" my red flag would be unfurling.
They didn't make it crystal clear that they wanted to and only wouldn't because something prohibited like a call out for work or something beyond their control I "probably" wouldn't answer the door. "Probably" is just not how someone who wants you would tell you they were going to see you. Friend or lover. They are testing the water to see what value you put on yourself. If you do not respect yourself then they won't. You don't have to be a Biotch about it just be busy with someone who respects your time and feelings enough to make a legit plan. I pretty much take someone telling me they are "probably" going to do something as to gutless to tell me the truth. Sorry; you deserve better treatment than that. |

Think if somebody told you that they were probably coming over? What do you think that means? Would it matter if it was something simple like they were coming over to water the flowers or something serious like coming over for dinner? I would think there might be a chance they think something might come up. Might be worried about committing because of work or something but doesn't want to promise....... ![]() Good point. This person has been having stomach problems and the pain sometimes gets bad. |

I would think that I would ask ...what does this mean??? yes or no not maybe

I just can't relate. "I'm comin' over?"
Do people really just say that and others accept it (except, of course, you're very closest)? It's just beyond me. |

Would it matter if it was something simple like they were coming over to water the flowers or something serious like coming over for dinner? People don't tell me; they ask. I don't mean it to be mean; it's just the way it is. I'm private. Yes, that's normal for me too. That was this person's way of offering to come over because they knew that I wanted some help digging to plant bushes. |

I have bushes to plant. He offered to dig the holes in the ground for the bushes. |

Ummm... I have people, (big and little) wander in all hours of the day and night...
some mildly mention they may or may not wander over.... and then they do or they don't... Not having doors that are closed, now the weather is warmer... it kind of is a permanent welcome. I never anticipate anyone... or anything...when I am looking at them, they are here, when I am not, they are not. |
