Uh~oh ... DOH! I'm confusedadiddledooo, teach ... I'm verah tired now ... Sidebar ... in show tunes, I followed the lead of you and others ... That is things that are Broadway and film too ... Yes??? Preferences of thread locations??? Show tunes are theater Movie tunes are.... Well, agreed ostensibly ... I interpret show tunes to be that of great musicals ... (whether they begin or end on stage, bright lights, big city ... ) ...

Show tunes is, in my mind, a short way of saying Broadway show tunes. At least that is how I've understood the term since I was just a wee laddie.
