i read The Mists of Avalon several years ago and thought it one of the best books i have ever read [i am almost through with my second reading, having 200 pages to go]. It reminds me of Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy and several Dickens novels i have read as far as how much is written into each sentence. It is meaty and therefore a slow read, but well worth the time. The imagery is amazing and author Marion Bradley Zimmerman's ideas about Christianity are right on. i find it ironic though that she became a devout Christian despite having written this book. Mists is about the Arthurian legend from a feminist perspective. i high recommend it to those out there who practice the Wiccan spirituality, and/or believe in the Mother Goddess.

I saw the movie first (loved it) then bought the book, which was soooo much better! I'd love to read it again but I loaned it to someone and never got it back. Keep forgetting to look for it at the used book store I go to.

Enjoyed the book, and the rest of the series, as well for that matter. I grabbed them at the library and have been going back and picking them up at the used book stores when I get the chance.
Movie was good, but the books were better (always) |

I loved the book and enjoyed the movie, but only because I love the story so much.
