Topic: real dumb question here | |

I am sure everyone knows that when a bill is passed it is not for just one subject. For example, the upcoming bill for medical coverage, ifit gets passed there will be major changes and such to other laws, regulations and such that have nothing to do with health care. Due to this, a lot of good ideas get scrapped because to get the good idea passed, you also have to pass the bad one.
My question is this: Why can't a bill be just that; A single subject? You want to pass a tax bill, then only discuss what is directly related to that particular subject, do not combine several issues into one bill. This seems like it would make things a hell of a lot easier for people to understand, and it would also help keep things from being secretly done. |

Mr president was supposed to stop that but......

The Line Item Veto was ruled unconstitutional in 1998.
The only way it can be implemented is through a constitutional amendment. |

It's basically a way of buying votes in congress.
They don't like something about the bill instead of debaying it and finding a happy medium they say well put this legislation in and you have my vote. SICKENING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
