I feel that he should have completed his 3 years time. He assaulted an American president. Three years is not long enough, IMO.

You would be surprised how much other countries really don't give a flying hell about the US president. He is not God as many imagine so here.

Alright let's see. Put it into a perspective.

The Chinese army invades USA on a lie, that USA wants to destroy Mexico with nukes. So the chinese army comes, overthrows the government and bombs Washington DC to oblivion, killing hundreds of thousands of people, later sets up camps where they torture people by tying them on a dog leash and making them do sexual acts.

So the Chinese president comes over and you're mad because The Chinese invaded your country and you throw a shoe at him and you get locked up for 3 years.

How does it sound like now?

Well that is one way to put it into perspective...well said

I wouldn't be surprised at all. Many countries didn't like us during Bush's time.

I still feel strongly about nobody being allowed to assault our president.

I wouldn't like anybody assaulting the Queen of England either.

And I don't like when presidents assault countries on a lie, which has absolutely no benefit to anyone, but death destruction and taxpayer money wasted.
Neither the US president , neither the Queen of England.

I didn't like Bush but he was the president. We should never tolerate any of our presidents being assaulted.

..and according to the news article, he was released after one year. This is none of US business as you stated, Iraqi laws.

well...ummm it is our business since it was our president...just not our laws or sentencing. just like if a foreign leader comes here...our laws and sentencing...but it is their business.

yeah...but since he has done it in Iraq and as you said Iraq jailed him and then released him, it's their problem. Whether you agree with or not, that's how it goes everywhere. If a foreign president comes to USA and an American throws his shoe at him, he will be charged by US laws and released accordingly to US laws and whatever rules there are to release someone early. Regardless of how the foreign president or the country representing feels like.

It's not worth fighting over this, obviously everyone has his own opinion about Bush and Iraq. I personally don't really like him , neither the Iraq war, since my brother was there for 3 years and he almost completely deaf to one of his ears.. so if it sounds like I'm coming down hard on Bush, well, that's why. flowerforyou

a president job is to sacrifice something for a better tomorrow, but i don't think lying to your own ppls to your own ppls is one of them.

now how are you comfortable living when someone telling you to eat something that is poison and its ok.

its pointless to argue really cause we are powerless to do anything, except think before you believe thing you see or hear.
now is that hard to do, or your brain is not functioning.

greedy ppls only do thing to benefit them self
just try to live a happy life before you die, forget about politician.

we all need each other for the better and if you can't graph that concept, than your one of the greedy ppls.

(good example) FOR YOU TO GET KNOWN YOU NEED ME, NOW IF IM NOT HERE
HOW ARE YOU GOING TO GET KNOWN? get the concept?

so try to live in peace die with a smile and let the politician eat
them self out.
they bound find out at the end once all the good ppls are
gone and just the greedy one's left.

ok...now I'm confused. I don't like politicians myself...but I have seen lately people in an uproar about a BHO joke or picture or whatever...but assault is ok if it's Bush?

Bush is a terrorist and killed scores of INNOCENT people in both Iraq and Afghanistan . The question now is : when is Obama going to do the right thing and withdraw all the troops from both countries ?!!.

If Bush killed scores of innocent people in Afghanastan an is considered a murderer, then why is BHO any different?? BHO sent more troops and will continue sending them.

My opinion : America needs another party with common sense and justice . Neither the Democrats nor the Republicans are fit to govern this wonderful nation !!!.

so if you don't like the current President its okay if someone assaults him

but if you do like the current President it's not okay

assaulting world leaders is what started World War 1.

It's incumbent on every nation to provide security for visiting foreign dignitaries. Regardless of whether they are popular or not.

When Chinese leaders visit America they have Tibetan and Uigher protesters trying to throw stuff at em off and on. And those people go straight to jail also
