so, when i went through boot camp it was tough,a little of the physical and alot of the mental, but near the end in order to become a marine, we had to walk 5 miles to "the reaper" with our main packs which weighed about 90lbs.then we had to climb the dam thing which killed my legs, then we had to walk 8 miles back to our squadbay, then we were marines (and we got our warriors breakfast:banana: *yum*).So during the end of ITB we got word that theyre now letting the next batch do the reaper with their day packs!! putting everything in it would weigh about 45 to 50lbs!!!! do you think this is fair?

Don't know about the marines or if the boot camp getting easier, but back in '95 in Fort Benning, I was on my MOS training (infantry) and i had to march 24hrs on the "turning blue" event. I hope they still do it, I want them to suffer as bad as I did for that blue cord. pitchfork

You guys get a ride from the Navy guys who smoke cigarettes on the way to the mess hall.

For the record I had my ankle the size of a watermelon once when I twisted my ankle and couldnt' walk for 4 days. that's no fun either.

during ITB alone i have been slammed into my walllocker, had my head bashed into my rifle, was kicked in the leg by combat instructor and scrapped my face, hands and knees from running with a 75lbs pack through a rough trail tripping and falling....good times, good times:tongue:

we didnt even have M-16's

we used M-14's, 12 gauges, and .45's

until we got to Tomahawk school. then things livened up
