If you liked his politics or not, the man has a family and I know what it's like to loose someone from cancer, and it's not pretty. Can you please show a little respect for his family?
He was actually one of the few liberals that worked both sides of the isle, maybe not on all things but more than most.

RIP Sen. Kennedy

Not!!--he liked other women--he drank booze from a fire hose--he tryed to hide the death of a young women he drove into the water (left her to her fate)- he never worked with the other side unless the one from the other side was a lib. ETC ETC ETC--other then that and his vote-ing record--he was ok.

And we are all perfect and never did anything wrong in our lives.
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
I'm a conservative, and didn't agree with most of his stances. But I'm not going to degrade the man after he passed away!

He did things for people few else would do. That might be horrible in your opinion but for many many people he was a blessing. He was a kind and considerate man despite his personal demons and no one can know what he regretted in his life.

If you want respect for the presidents or people that you admire, one would hope you could at the very least be respectful of those that mourn his loss.

I will show the same respect for Presidents I did not agree with.

Tell that to the family of Mary Jo Kopechne.

Ah, so you were there that night? You saw the incident? One incident in a Man's whole life of 77 years is judged by one tragic fateful incident? Ok, Gotcha...

So the man kills a woman, gets away with it, and is still elected into office.

Wow, I thought Florida was the dumb state. Mass is close behind it noway

He didn't kill her. His crime was not telling the police for 10 hours.

He might not have choked that woman to death or shot her, but he did drive that car off the road. He did swim to his own safety. What he did not do is go back in and try to save her. He went into straight survival mode.

Not aiding a drowning victom might not be "murder" in the classic sense, but it sure as h@ll isn't helping them live.

We don't know if that's how it happened. All we know is what he said happened. He said that he made several dives to try to get her out.

But..yes...he did drive off the road. Have you seen that road? It's a small bridge over a river and I don't recall seeing any sides on that bridge. Also, there were no lights on the bridge for night.

Chappaquiddick was 40 years ago and not realy worth dredging up. That is one of the deadest horses alive

he was drunker than a skunk when he drove off the bridge and in modern times would have been charged with vehicular manslaughter. But drinking and driving was more accepted then

I didnt particiularly care for his politics but I dont see a need to keep beating the chappaquiddick dead horse 40 years later just because he died

I remember that drinking and partying was much more acceptable even in the 70's. I remember police pulling carloads of teenagers over and taking their beer and that was the end of it. The same thing happened when teenagers were drinking and more at parks.
