Topic: Does Space have Sound? | |
---|---|
I ask this because it was said that in space there is no sound.
So this means if you where to watch a realistic Star Wars movie there would be no sound when galactic ships fight against the rebels by shooting their photons or the engines wouldn't be heard when flying by? What is the reality behind this? Is there sound or no sound. Is gravity a factor or not? What makes sound? Is it just frequencies and waves? |

in space there is a differet kind of sound, but hes right you need an atmosphere for sound wave to travel, but the uiverse has alot of bodies that make souns that we can pick up, just turn your radio to an empty station, that static you are hering is the static of the galaxy, and the static of whats here on earth ^^

Yes that is what I heard also. It is amazing though to watch these movies especially any of the Star Wars ones, because George Lukas emphasized so much on sound effects in them.
His sound effects are so good that other producers want them in their movies. |

space is a vaccum
for souund to travel i think it needs a catalyst and in a vaccum there is no catalyst |

so one says no and the other says yes you need atmoshere to resonate the noise created when they work travels threw the materials the suit is made of and then their bodies then picked up by the microphone and amplified would be my guess |

so one says no and the other says yes you need atmoshere to resonate if they are inside the craft they have an artificial atmosphere thus there is a catalyst for sound to travel threw |
