My computer's hard drive recently crashed...Tony took it in to have it fixed. This morning while I am doing a little surfing, as I wait for the site to connect I notice "third party cookie check" down below by the task bar. Does this mean someone is monitoring my computer usage? Just curious, I have never noticed this before.

If you're on Mingle, for instance, and an ad pops up for match.com, they would be the third party cookie people..lol. It doesn't mean any more than that. The person that fixed your drive may have tweaked your security settings when they worked on it. I would still run scan disk, and see if anything pops up.

I think it means that there are a number of house-parties going on in your immediate vicinity in the neighbourhood where you live, and in the third of those parties two people are playing chess with cookies for pieces, and one of those two people checkmated the other one.

I could be wrong, but it would be hard for anyone to prove for sure that I am wrong here.

Cookie... cooooookie... you said the wrong word, young lady. I've now gotta eat some cooooooooooo... kies.

3rd party cookies, and referer's being sent as well, are where banner ads, popups, and the like get their info, so disabling 3rd party cookies is one of the first things one should do when thinking about hardening their security

the fact is down by the clock is disturbing
