Week of August 16 thru 23.
13 more soldiers and marines die in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan this last week. Every single week we are losing our treasured commodity. We must not forget we are still there and dying.... |

No we can't (even though it seems we have)forget they are there day and night away from their families and in harms way.
Remember to thank those that are home for their bravery and commitment. There are even those that read these posts whom are serving now in those countries. |

((okay this is making me mad; how come I cant get these things to post?)) I've gone through about 15 of them on this one post.
Oh yeah.......My baby is going to Qatar this week on R&R. He so needs a break. I am waiting patiently (ok not so patiently) to talk to him via skype...wife and kids come first. |

I live in San Antonio and do work on the military bases. I thank soliders everyday.
Something that happened yesterday that was so cool: My Dad is retired Army. He had been in Korea, Viet Nam twice, Germany when the wall went up. Anyway, we had a garage sale yesterday. A neighbor came by to thank him for his service and for flying the American Flag everyday. She had left him a note a week or so ago regarding this. Another lady overheard this conversation and came over and hugged him and thanked him also. A gentleman came over and shook his hand. He was very moved and told everyone to treat the returning soldiers better than they were treated when they came back from Viet Nam. We owe all of our brave men and women from all of the years so much! |
