Topic: Some girls played a dangerous trick on my daughter

I just need to vent. My 17 year old daughter had a falling out w/a girl
who has been her best friend since the 4th grade. This girl has gotten
into sex and drugs, and my daughter just does not want to be her friend
any more. This girl and *her* friend used to hang out with my daugter a
lot. My daughter told me these girls were always making my daughter the
butt of jokes, etc., and my daughter just got tired of it. Nothing
serious, but it was not all-around teasing.

One of the girls said she wanted to talk to my daughter about the
falling out w/the other girl. She told my daughter to meet her in a
popular city park last night, a park where these girls had previously
hung out, and after their talk, the friend would drive my daughter home.
My ex dropped my daughter off; the girl was not yet there, but my
daughter said her friend certainly wouldn't strand her in a park right
before dark. Well, she did. It was all planned ahead of time, for my
daughter to show up and no one would come and she would be stranded in
this park w/no ride home. (she has a cell phone; I went and got her.)

Saying "meet me at McDonald's" and not showing up is 1 thing. But to
have purposely placed my daughter in danger, I am furious.

This story makes my daughter sound kind of dumb and gullible, but that's
not true. She trusted her friend. And yeah, my ex should not have
dropped her off alone, but again, she had no reason to think her friend
was not going to meet her.

Taught your daughter a lesson.
1. Only trust REALLY good friends
2. Never out yourself in danger w/o a back up plan.

That is terrible, at least she is safe!!

Someday what those vicious haglings did will catch up with them.

Yeah, Oldsage, we all learned a lesson, and at least she came out of
this one safely.

It's not like these girls (incl. my daughter) regularly did mean things
to other people. This was out of the blue.

You know, I want to call these girls' parents, but they are the way they
are because their parents don't give a sh*t. Well, they'll be knocked up
and dropped out of school any day now.

I think you should call the parents anyway. Maybe they don't know whats
going on and they can start tuning in. Sorry that had to happen to her
at least something was learned.

I'm glad she is safe. Kids can be cruel! The same kind of thing happened
to my daughter~luckily it was during the day & at her school(after
hours) as she is only 11! We had a good talk about that one & now she
wants me to wait until they get there!
