I wrote his name on my hand near the newborn shores,
But it washed away with the current and my heart's prior sores.
I screamed his name in the dark hoping no other lover would hear,
But my heart filled with guilt and my mind with fear.
I saw him walk to the end of the ocean in my dreams,
I felt him unstitch my bleeding life's seams.
I felt his skin like water and mine like rock,
I watched as his face filled with shock.
His hand in mine he now leads me to the sea,
And we crumble to the dust in which we will always be.
