Three news stories to the topic.

Should he be released and allowed to go home? |

I think he's dying and it doesn't matter anymore. I understand the victim's families' protests and would probably feel the same. But since I'm further removed, let him go home to die.

Yes, he has terminal cancer, and some people claim that there is doubt on the evidence. But those who believe he did it think he should have gotten the death penalty in the first place. |

Well, it's been 21 years. What's done is done, can't be changed. He and his government have said he was innocent, his government has taken responsibility and made what amends are possible. Perhaps it's just time to put the past behind and move forward. |

259 people were blown out of the sky, including dozens of college kids.
They were shown plenty of compassion. |

If he wasn't guilty why did Libya turn him over to Scottish authorities?
Did MOOmar have a few people draw straws to see who would be sacrificed? If he wasn't guilty why did MOOmar admit to complicity and pay victims families? If he wasn't guilty, then there should be an on going investigation to bring the real perpetrators to justice. |

I'm not saying he was innocent, I do not know that. All I'm saying is: But if he was made the scapegoat, should he....or shouldn't he? |

This won't be popular but it's how I feel. If he was a scapegoat we will never know the truth, all those families might have hated the wrong person for over 20 years. Let the dead rest in peace and let let it go already.
Who the heck are we to decide if their court's decisions are right or wrong. The guy will be dead in a few short months and it will be history anyway. Let it go already. |

I was not convinced that the man was guilty . In politics many conspiracies go unnoticed by the sheeple . |

Actually I was also not convinced back then, at this point in time it's not about compassion it's about letting go already. Would be nice if we let go of the sheep stuff too. |

Well at least he has cancer, hopefully it will be a long drawn-out painful horrible death. Would you feel the same if he was not guilty? Since I can't know for sure, how could it wish that upon him? |

Well at least he has cancer, hopefully it will be a long drawn-out painful horrible death. Would you feel the same if he was not guilty? Since I can't know for sure, how could it wish that upon him? He was convicted, he is guilty. How can you ever be sure of anything? I am not aware of the full evidence against him. However, he would not have been convicted with no evidence. No government would beable to pin anything like that on myself. He must be affiliated to terrorist activity in some way. He is definately guilty of something. I hope he suffers lots of pain. May his death not come too soon. |

May his death not come too soon. Lots of people have been imprisoned with so called evidence that were later found inocent? First you say he was convicted, he is guilty, then you say how can you ever be sure of anything. Well if that is the case then you really don't know if he is or isn't. I don't know the guy so I don't feel anything at all about him. I just would not wish him or anyone else major pain when frankly I don't know absolutely if they are guilty. Too tired now to care right now much less think, need sleep. Night Dan |
