Topic: Have You Ever Gotten A Referral Email? | |
---|---|
I think it is a trick. I was also contact today from a women and she would that I register at a web-page (urlcute.com)to know more about her. I thought what kind of problems has this girl. For a friend to refer me to a friend..you think that is a trick? What would there be to gain? If the guy is on this site, tell her "have him email me" and see what happens If she's telling you to go to a different address, then its a trick |

I just got an email from a woman I don't know, and have never seen in the forums. She said she saw and read my profile and has a dear friend that she feels would be perfect for me... that we would be a perfect match, I know there is no such thing as perfect, that is just the verbiage she used.. She gave me his screen name and told me I should contact him. Never has this happened to me...anyone? I did from a friend. But not anyone I didn't know. |

Sounds kinda like passing a note in the 4th grade. Be careful he may poke you with a pencil or pull on your pigtails...... |

I think someone trying matchmaking off site would be a real RED FLAG for me.
I would think it is a violation of use agreements also. Have I ever pointed out a profile to someone? Only because I thought they had a good profile with good photos to use as a model with the person's permission. Years ago when I used to entertain a lot only very rarely have I seen mutual personal relationships develope and thrive when influenced by a third party. I would not dream of thinking I could know someone well enough via the computer to recommend them matching. I personally believe adults should find their own dates . |

Hahahaha!!!!!!!!!!! Im 'pimping' for a friend on here, with her permission!
We are both having fun with it...if they 'click'...that's up to THEM... I'm just the pimp. |

I sent an email to a guy once that said you should be introduced to my sister... LOL after reading his profile, I knew he was meant for her! He never responded to me, go figure! LOL

Yeah, I WISH that has ever happened to me So, was he " perfect" like she said? Yeah, same here....I would welcome a little help!! |

I'm thinking maybe..
after reading his profile and mine I can see where someone would think there might be a match, some similarities, same interests, spiritual edge. Just curious how she found me I guess. |

hmmm, never a referral letter, but on another site that i was a member, there used to be a function where one profiler could match another, and you'd get a little 'flame' in your inbox indicating who it was, and who sent it.
one person sent me a match, but i'd never spoken to either of them before so i don't know if it was just a joke, or an accident. |

That never happened to me.

If, however she led you to a profile YOU find interesting, what cold an email hurt? All in all though I would proceed with caution I think. |
