I miss being in the technical field. I have been working on computers for awhile. I used to work R&D in the polymer science field. At least it was interesting....

well we've pretty much bottomed out the recession. and although jobs are a lagging indicator I cant help thinking that everything is gonna bust wide open soon and lots of people are gonna start getting grants and research budgets. so just try to hang in there

might even be a good time to work on a little professional development. do a little bit of online research to hone your skills to become just a little bit more marketable
I'm on the verge of going back to school. When I get a kidney transplant I'm gonna need a job with really good insurance and benefits so I'm thinking of a field change. I might get a education degree. Teachers get pretty good benefits |

I've never used any of the job seeking web sites. they always seem like a lot of work at home scams to me what I did do is a google search for companies in my field (photonics) in my area and have always come up with lots of leads. the last job I got laid off from, the vice-president of research drove me over to another company to meet their president and told him he should hire me (he did). I thought that was pretty cool but either way, good luck That is very cool. Fiber optics is something I don't know much about. Thank you... |

Sorry about your job. I don't know what line of work you are in, but have you tried googling it to see if there is a website devoted to just that profession? What I mean is, I do medical transcription, when I was looking for a 2nd job, I went to "MT.com" and there are tons of jobs out there listed on that site. Just a thought. Good luck in your search.

Sorry to hear it.
Just remember, we work way harder then we should most of the time. So enjoy you time off. You seem like a good guy, you'll find work soon enough. Sit back and relax, not too much but definitely take advantage of it. Steve |
