What are your thoughts on the two? Do you believe that we were put through bad things because it is all prewritten?

I never really thought it, I don't really think there is a great plan for people. It doesn't make a lot of sense taking things into account, tragedy is a hell of a future...we all made the choices that put us in the position we currently are in.

The only two things I believe are prewritten are the day of your birth and the day of your death. The rest and what happens is on your head. The only possible exception to that would be soulmates. I'm not too sure how I feel about those, if they even exist...But that could be me just being a bit cynical.

I do not know if it is what I believe but someone told me once that we all have a destiny the road we take to get there is our own choice but they all end up to what we are suppose to do.

Yes!!! Great cat names! Go rescue two today so you can use them right away!! (plus make two more cats very happy - change their fate and destiny for sure!)

So if we agree that adopting cats changes their fate and destiny then why don't we know that events beyond our control certainly affect our own?

We make choices everyday that move us in different directions, we try to have a plan of sorts. A phone call can change everything, a birth or death, fire or flood, economics (anyone lost their job to this economy?) can change everything. I guess I believe we can control, for the most part, the quality of how we live our lives but not how life's events may shape us. We can control how we react to life's changes, life's everyday events for that matter, we can be positive or negative in our outlook etc etc. I believe in karma and live to create good karma but fate and destiny...well very good cat names!

destiny was a wild child she brought a lot of her issues on herself

but fay she just tried to be nice to everybody and help where ever she could not really sure why her life had such bad things happen

i guess it was just the way it was meant to be sad2

Its all random. Nothing is planned out for us. We all walk out own path.

There is alot of literature about this (theology). This is a heavy question.

I'm of two minds on this

on one hand I believe that time is a finite entity taken as a whole. What has happened and what will happen are all and the same.

but learning some of fractal geometry teaches me that free will and chaos are still bound by a system that creates an inevitable order. so maybe we have free will but it doesnt matter

If you create an act, you create a habit. If you create a habit, you create character. If you create a character, you create a destiny.

Destiny is something we choose to go after.... Fate is something that happens to us, and seemingly takes away our choices, but in fact actually leads us back towards the choice of Destiny we already made before we were born.

So what you're saying is that we already have a pre-determined future before birth? Again...tragedy is a hell of a future. Born just to die...doesn't seem like much...

I believe there is a path,,,

Its the journey that gets us mucked up!!

Why? Because we have free will and choice.

Essentially, we then change the path. We take a left, when we shoulda taken a right. Or come to the crossroads, and choose a "different" one

That journey then becomes our "fate and destiny"

Unless of course, we get back on the "path"

I don't think much about what I'm "suppose" to do, more bout what kind of legacy I will leave. flowerforyou

Destiny is what we are here on earth to achieve. It is the Sacred Inner Star that guides us; our aspirations; our need to "go" somewhere and make our mark on the world

If we all seriously went about fulfilling our Destiny there would be no need for Fate, for our Star is the Magical Gift of our moment in time which is personal to us alone, and belongs to every single person on this planet.

The problem we are faced with, of course, is what exactly is our Destiny, and how do we go about fulfilling it? And that is where Fate has a significant part to play, for most of us have little memory of what we have committed to do, and are so caught up in the material world that we lose sight of our own unique qualities and potential.

But then again, these are just my personal thoughts.
