I think its all about chemistry with the person. In my relationships

BC, I was including a 'first date' when I said 'in my relationships.'
I'm not going into details here in the forums, but I have been all over
the map - puritanical, and otherwise. The thing that matters is that I
am being true to myself, and that I am coming from a place of respect
for the other person.

For you, you have stated (I think) that certain things are uncomfortable
for you on a first date. And there you go! Thats how it is, how it
should be, for you. You next question (i think) was how to communicate
your feelings when other people misinterpret the boundaries you set for
yourself...thats a harder question...
