At least The King went while he was still on the throne. How many of us will be able to say that? So did Lenny Bruce. |

Today is August 10th. Some places August 9th. Maybe the remembering Elvis' death started a little too early?

I was married and had an almost 3 y/o daughter. Saw it on the news. My girlfriend was an Elvis fanatic and was really torn up. I felt bad for him, but had other things to take care of in my life.

I`m not a big Elvis fan.
I did like a couple of his songs though. I had just started a new job. I was 25 years old. Some of the older guys ( in their late 30`s thru early 50`s) I worked with were really kind of down because they were big Elvis fans. Ladies & Gentlemen. Elvis has just been spotted at the West Tusc. Canton Wal-Mart as a greeter. Please act accordingly and Elvis will autograph your "Elvis" cds that you buy there. This has been a public service announcement on behalf of the West Tusc. Canton Wal-Mart. Thank ya. |

My ex-brother in law used to be an Elvis impersonator, part of his act.
He also plays the accordion in a Polka band. There is a great video of his 'Elvis Sighting' Elvis emerging from his mobile home in Cheboygan MI. |

I'm a music lover. What do YOU think?
I was 10. I remember being outside riding my bike in the driveway, listening to the radio. My mom (who was, and still is, a HUGE Elvis fan) was outside, also. The news broke in. I thought it was a very cruel joke. We both rushed inside to turn on the TV. My mother pretty much came unglued, and I wasn't much better. Three years later, I REALLY thought the world stopped on December 8. In the years since then, there have been many other notable music artists who have left us, but to a much lesser impact than Presley or Lennon....until June 25 of this year. |
