Here is the problem as with any "free" site here included. Everyone is there / here . No cost,anonymous .
C.L. is mostly SPAM,not dangerous, they come on like people but is a leader to get you to sign on some date site.
I am sure you can find freaks anywhere..there is just ez cause there is not a spam filter to get rid of it.

i recently sold a lot of 'junk' i'd laying around the house (to make room for some new junk haha).

i've also recently heard about someone local getting shot while answering an ad, or having someone answer their ad (can't recall which).

i've subsequently pulled all my ads off there (the little bit of money isn't worth it) and called a charitable donation to pick up the rest.

i don't think i'd ever resort to using it for personal ads and/or dating. i'm sure there are 'normal' people floating around there, but i tend to think of them as being sexual deviants and general weirdos.

Wow.. you really changed your ways because of a vague news article about getting shot on craigslist? Did you stop going to the bank when you heard there were robberies there and people get shot? Did you stop taking showers when you were told someone slipped, hit their head, and died in the bathtub?

I tried to sell an old laptop on there and I might have gotten on legitimate response, but the rest were Nigerian scammers.

I have friends that search through the ads to apartments and stuff.

But I haven't and will not go on it again after my experience trying to sell my laptop.

I've met 4 people from CL. 1 was a tennis partner. 2 were disasters. and 1 is still a friend of mine today. Just be careful and use common sense. Any man worth meeting will be very open and forthcoming and will go out of their way to make sure you feel safe, including giving his cell number, meeting in a public place, etc. Anybody that you feel is being evasive should quickly be nixed.

I did post an ad once in the personals just for a friend to talk to. I did not have much luck, most of the responses were for an intimate encounter.

Now I have used it to find a room mate and had a little luck. I also used it to find a home for my dog when I thought I was going to have to give her up and had some very positive results.

As with all internet or personal dealings with people one has to be very cautious. My ex room mate sold his truck the same day he put an ad in the craigslist from the response to craigslist. So it can work for someone.

I'm kind of laughing......because as I looked around on the ads, there were a couple of local people on there, that are right here on Mingle. So if it's only sexual deviants and creepy people......ummmmmm......watch out!......

No, I have not met anyone from craigs list. It's nice to hear the responses though! Y'all crack me up.

All the ones I found to be "Normal" turned out to be spam or a link to a "fling" "NSA Fun" web site.
