The idea seems strange to some... maybe because we are use to the idea of the way it has always been.

I'm not saying this as an end all fact. Some woman (along with some men...I'm not being sexist) want the perfect man. Just like the perfect woman. The ring is a sign to desperate drunk people that this person can be their grace due to already proving that they can settle down.

Why do you think 21 year olds put the ring ON... it helps get them laid. Id gladly take off the ring so I wouldn't be annoyed...nothing about temptation.

Its simple. Why would you waste your time talking to someone you don't want to talk to?

Also. Why is it ok for a man to not need a ring and just be trusted. When its bad for him to take it off so he doesn't need to waste his time getting talked to?

shouldn't throw stones in a glass house

I would love to wear a wedding band on my finger. But id take it off at the bars and such...no really hear me out. and older married guys can attest to this... Men get hit on at leasy 50% more when they have that band on.

Please, thats absurd, men have a mouth to set boundries and turn someone down.

laugh Fail.

LOL I have no problem setting my bounds with woman. If I get hit on LESS when im married, that would be awesome. Its annoying to get those stupid lines... you'd be suprised how many horrible lines people throw out...or maybe you wouldnt. lol

sure winner. ANYway... ive BEEN married, and in many relationships.

People get hit on period.

You open your mouth, and you say something, a ring does nothing thats juvinile.

You have no argument.

Many cultures such as Greek Orthodox have a ring without any jewels for engagement for men and then the wedding ring with design but no gems so men wear two rings on the same finger
I bet you didn't know that

I was arguing? I was explaining my opinion. Its your choice to decide if you think I'm wrong or right. I don't really care either way.

But maybe I can just say what everyone else is saying.
But calling me juvinile for an opinion and just assuming the worst of me.

Are you sure its me?

Travel and commingling with cultures extends our understanding to the point where back at the ranch one might feel like an alien from outer space

I heard a discussion on the concept of men having engagement rings during the duration of the engagement. I think women like to show off the rock on their finger..
Should men were one to show they are taken? Do the women they are engaged to even care? Would the men want to were one?

I don't believe in marriage so never any ring for me but even if i did I would not need a ring to know in my heart that I am completely in love for only one person.

A ring is nothing really but an artifact some wear them without ever respecting what it means (cheaters) some take it off so not to look taken and some wear them just for the showoff, a few will respect what it is suppose to mean but its not the ring that does that but the person own morality, honesty and the respect for the engagement that they have taken for the person they love.

When I was 16..saw a friends engagement ring get snagged on a combine and pop the finger off his hand....I will never..lemme say that again...NEVER wear any form of jewelry....(I refuse to till this very day)

you ladies have your fun with it...but, when you are looking through an acre and a half of sorghum stalks hoping to kind a finger to sew back on...(never did find it)...then...more power to ya.

Never once met a woman worth the dangerous stupidity of jewelry...

and I know some really righteous women.

Let the people who work in an office or who ain't gotta job deal with that crap....

My uncle is an accountant and he never wears a wedding ring. Says he hates jewelry. Then again, he lives in Charleston, so he's pretty safe from cheating, LOL

grumble What, I have never hit on a married man. I guess I'm old fashioned because I don't think a married guy should be in a club, unless he is with his so...
