Topic: Getting hit on (I should have been more specific) | |
---|---|
I've just had times when I was really freaked out but the times they've followed me down halls and kept asking for my number, and things like that. Also, instances where I've let them know I'm not single and they wouldn't go away. That's what my whole post is really about. Casual flirting when someone acts like a gentleman and not a stalker is totally cool with me and welcomed. Okay, at my school, I would ask you the following questions! 1. Do you at any time feel threatened, uncomfortable or that your safety is at risk? 2. Have you transcribed the events and details what happened? 3. Have you asked them to leave you alone? 4. Would you be making a case of harrassment and want me to do something about your claims? 5. Get me all the evidence, if I feel that there is a case, I will have a disciplinary meeting tomorrow and we will listen to their side and then we will take it from there. The reason I post this, is because if you go to report it, then you should ahould have all the evidence to hand, then it can be dealt with quickly, hazing, bullying, harrassment, is taken very seriously at my school and I hope your school has the same zero tolerance, but nobody can help you unless you speak up. But, do we really need every horny idiot who can't take a hint to end up with charges on thier record? My thought...if you got a brother/cousin/good friend....have him say..."Back off my sister" While standing up in the guys face.....I know that I have protected my sister that way Works like a charm. If hazing is happeniing at my school and a student was writing this on a website, then I would want to know. There would be no charges, just a clear sign that 'not in my company' If it was my daughter, then she is like me able to say, get lost and not be troubled by it, but then if it was a problem she would come to me and we would look at what is best. Depends on the level of the her and how she feels, they could simply horny teenagers, but follwoing girls around is sort of not the way to get them through that... Although we did have one boy, who followed a girl around, never aggressive, after two weeks he asked her if he could carry her books. |

But, do we really need every horny idiot who can't take a hint to end up with charges on thier record? Works like a charm. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time. but also i think it would be a shame to see so many records tarnished there needs more education on it and on the consequences, I think a good chunk of the issue is that they are just uneducated on how it can be wrong, or don't realize the trouble they can get themselves in. It's usually made VERY clear in grade school, but with colleges people are under the assumption they can do/say ANYTHING they want. As if the same rules don't apply. Schools are supposed to be a safe environment and no one should feel threatened in any of the sense. The stats for campus sexual violence is sickening, and it usually starts with one person who doesn't know "NO MEANS NO!" and more times drugs/alcohol. |

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time. Oh man...If hitting on a good looking chick who ain't interested in me is a crime....I should have been strapped in the electric chair decades ago. Please don't misunderstand...I have spent many years giving self defense lessons at battered women's shelters and rape crisis prevention centers....I know full well the bad stuff that happens. (Far better than you may expect) I have nothing but loathing for guys who would harm a woman in any reguard. Just bear in mind...there is a difference in a c*cky young guy with an over inflated sense of self...who is just too damned dumb to take a hint....(they tend to think that like every rapper they idolize, that the women won't say no) they ain't the same as the guys who are gonna slip you Rohypnol...(they are the inoffensive smooth talkers) or the down right rapists....who generally don't even ask... I guess my point would be...Just because someone shows undesired attention...they ain't automatically a threat. |

You do make a really good point, then maybe a warning system in place? then instead of putting it on their records they should be taking a required class of some sort to educate them more on it. After all I spose they are still young and impressionable by the media and just need a new impression? |

Taze them....that should give them the right impression of your feelings...should only be a minor assualt charge...do that two or three times and NO ONE at that school will mess with you. |

I must say, as one of those "security guard, campus police" type people, that some claims of being harassed, and/or stalked are legitimate, yet sometimes...
...people either simply want to be mean, or don't get enough attention from their significant other, or seek to divert attention from their poor job performance where the "incident" supposedly took place. How can a supervisor, manager, etc., reprimand or fire so-and-so after they were victims of that "horrible stalking incident!" These false, sinister accusations, only adds layers of protection around those freaks who truly ARE prone to harass and stalk. And those people who truly ARE victims of such crimes, must sometimes jump through hoops to get it to stop. Then, lets' not forget the person falsely accused of the harassment/stalking (the REAL victim, in some cases), who is trespassed out of some public facility, whose school record is irrepairably tarnished, and who comes to the realization that remaining innocent of harassment/stalking does not protect him...oh, or her, as well. Anyone ever heard of a "self-fulfilling prophecy"? I've seen them in the making many times. You can thank your local idiot who loves to cry, "wolf!" |
