I have been on both sides of undelivered mail over the last month. At least 3 times that I know of I have not received an email. And I know of at least 2 times where my email was never received.
Now I know this because the people that I have missed emails with have then later asked why I never read their email. And I go look and I don't have an email. And I have seen the other side.... most recently one I sent on Friday I think. It showed as unread and I started to suspect that it was never received. So I sent a new email asking about the old email and sure enough... they never received one. Obviously I'm getting some (most) of my emails, but every once in a while they are disappearing in to the ether. It's a little unsettling when you get emails asking you why you're ignoring their previous email. I can imagine a situation where two people are in the "I wonder if they are interested" stage and the "I really like you. Do you want to hang out?" email gets lost. |

My recent activity shows that someone emailed me, but I didn't get it. However, I'm glad I didn't get it because of who it was. But if it was someone I was actually interested in that person I'd be irritated.

Maybe this is why my inbox is always empty? LOL

I don't think I've not gotten any, but one that I know of was not recieved, and two that I did receive, just disappeared from my list before I could answer...weird. |

I wonder if there might be a way for you to receive a notification of a failed email message. I think its the filters being used that prevent the emails from sending, so maybe the system might allow for this.
Although, i dont really think any filters are necessary when two friends are talking to eachother. I can see the point of them when people are mailing for the first time or for people that havent established eachother as 'friends'. |

But if so, he shouldn't show up under who's viewed me either, right? |

The unreceived/undelivered emails that I experienced were with people on my friends list and I am also within their mailing criteria. In fact, if I just copy and re-send the email it will go through.

Or when the "I really had a great time last night and looking forward to seeing you again." never gets delivered and then you never hear from them again because they think you are ignoring them. I agree it is very frustrating! Thanks again for the resend. "I really like you. Do you want to hang out?"
What?!? Do people really get emails like this on here? I feel cheated! |

Sorry to hear about the confusion, guys. As you may know, we made the filters more aggressive a while ago, but we undid all of the changes shortly after because too many emails were being caught. There's no way that we can completely get rid of the filters (it's tough enough to keep scammers out as it is), but we can continue to let you guys know how it works:
If anybody sends a link, email address, or profane email in a first-contact email, it will not be delivered. If you are in frequent contact with a person - within the last 30 days - then no emails should be caught. If it's been more than 30 days since two people were in contact with one another, the filters kick in again. The exceptions to this last rule, as tngxl65 noted, should probably be for Friends and Mutual Matches. I will look into this matter more to make sure that such emails are not being caught. |

Oh wow, thanks. I guess he must have sent a really gross email to me then. Thanks for getting rid of it for me. |

Not a problem, and I'm not guaranteeing that there's not a glitch here (still have a bit of testing left). We just want to get to the bottom of it.
Finally, if you think that a legitimate email has gotten caught, email me so that we can take a look. |
