I made a newbie post.

And now I welcome the hot ones. Or the weird-looking ones. Or the ones who seem desperate.

I think my Welcome thread said something to the effect of "Hot, new redhead here"...but I was a noob with no pix so I was ignored...*sniff*

I don't give a rat's azz about anyone one rating my profile, so I skipped that unpleasant ordeal...

As far as posting in noob welcome threads...I usually just look around for ones that for whatever reason, weren't posted in much & bring 'em back to the top for a second shot at fame...

Actually, I intentionally snuck in as a "Face-less One"...I've always found the dynamics between the "Seen" & "Unseen" quite interesting...the "Seen" are always so unsettled when an "Unseen" has an opinion & a definite personality...as we can see by the way a few people were treated in the past...Be seeing you...

I thought i would make things easy on myself so i named dropped a couple of people that i already knew and had met in real life, i thought that if people would be sure that i am 'real' it would make things smoother.

Quite a few people from my last site had come over here at that time, and there were a good few i knew that were already here. So, it was much easier for me than most to break the initial barrier. The thread eventually got moved into chitchat, and made it to part two, before i eventually thought it was time to let it die!

How did you introduce yourself into the forums?

I see so many threads, which say the same thing, 'hi i am new, just want to say hi', 'newbie here just checking this place out', blah blah blah blah..i find most intro threads very dull and boring.

Do you say hi to every newbie? Or are you more selective and just introduce the ones that are more unique? Or just the ones you see as a potential match?

I always wonder about the hit and run thread makers. 'HI, i am new and want to make friends.....but now im never going to post in the forums again! Or even the ones that do eventually respond just once or twice. Whats the point?

What is the best way to make an entrance into the forums?

i never made any newbie thread; i don't really like to be noticed and have that sort of attention given to me.

i just posted here and there in threads that interested me, or said hello in those where i knew someone.

i hardly ever welcome anybody, mostly those i already know from some other site. doing so makes it feel, in some way, that it's MY site and i'm welcoming them to it, which seems a bit arrogant to me.
