Topic: Does being with young people make you lose a sense of age an | |

Being with anyone makes me lose my sense. Young, old, I've tried them all...neither worked. When I take over the world I'm going to segregate it into age groups. Hummmm and where are you going to put those that think way beyond their age? On a ship. |

I think that us folks in the late 30- early 50 range are a bridge to both the older and younger generations in many ways. We still need to ask questions of our Elders, and get asked the same questions from our younger generation.
When I go to the pub across the street in the late afternoon, early evening, there's a mix of all people in there. I usually end up sitting next to an older person (60 or so), and then some 20 something ends up sitting next to me. When conversation happens, it usually ends up involving all of us, just not two generations, but 3, or sometimes even four. It's a great thing. I do happen to forget my age after a few drinks, and try doing karaoke on Saturday nights. As my voice is really deep, and doesn't go much higher, I have to stick to alto/bass singers, like Josh Turner, Barry White, or Ernie Ford. <--- That's three different eras of singers right there !! |

My daughter and her friends took me out tonight to the casino and dancing. The band there played a wide variety of songs to dance to (including my era). While dancing with them I lost a sense of age and time. Has that ever happened to you when you were hanging with another generation? It's not that you forget your age it's just that you let yourself go and didn't think of the image of the moment (Hey I'm to old to do this). When I was playing Barbie with my nieces or listening to Ninja turtles with my nephew I was there with them to have fun so I didn't think I'm to old to play this or enjoy it I just did. It's the same when I'm at the old age house and talking or playing scrabble chess or whatever I'm there because I want to and to enjoy myself. To often it is our own brain that creates the age thing. |
