Down here in CT I had no power for 4hrs and the storm hasn't even arrived yet..it was barely raining. I heard it's worse in NY state.

No power outage, but we are in a major heat wave, supposed to last all week. Up around 95 to 100 degrees. Over 100 in Seattle. It is really unusual for us to get this kind of heat. The house is like an oven.

I had one a few day ago, half the house power was out the other half it was on...strange. No street lights for over an hour. Lit some candles and got out the ipod.

 Ever since I was in that icestorm last winter and had to do without electricity for over 2 weeks I am pretty much terrified at the thought of losing power

during the ice storm i went 3 days without power.my brother and his family went almost 2 weeks without it!

We had a thunder storm Sunday night (I think), rained buckets, but we needed the rain. The ice storm they are talking about wasn't in my state. It is really unusual for us to get this hot on this side of the state, the eastern side gets the heat, but they said we are even hotter than the eastern side is right now. That is just not fair!!!

We have to watch for lightening......creates too many fires!!! Half of my area is burning up!!! My dad and son had to evacuate because of a fire in their area last week.

Everything is dry around here, but we rarely have thunder and lightning storms. That is why the one this weekend was such a surprise. I hope you and your family stay safe girl.
