Topic: Is bread a villain when trying to lose weight? | |
---|---|
Two years ago, I ate 6-8 meals a day, walked regularly, worked out, and got down to around 170, from 193. Now, the flubber is very stubborn to come off.
I am down to 183, though. I do eat a lot of bread. Could this be the culprit? |

i cut back on starches, including bread, but that's just me, and i replace it with a ceasar salad, carrots, nuts for protein, egg whites in the mornings, as much organics as you can. i'll eat chicken or fresh fish, in olive oil, usually pan fried, or grilled for dinner. i lost thirty pounds recently and i'm getting very cut. a juicer helps as well.....three times a day.

The bread alone is not the problem. It is your desire to eat bread and to eat carbohydrates. Maybe substitute the bread with fruits and salad with less dressing or try the mediterranian salad and lotsa fruits.

Bread and starches are really not good in general, especially the white or processed ones. Pure calories with no real energy or nutritional benefit.
Walk regularly at a moderate pace and replace the bread w/ protein and veggies, AND EAT SMALLER PORTIONS, that will work best!!! Don't waste your time w/ a doc for this, b/ maybe a group like nutrisystem if you need some extra support. Sparkpeople is a good website too. |

MSG can cause some weight gain and that weight is hard to get off. |

I have lost a lot of weight (in the last year) and the first thing I did was stop bringing bread into the house. I went high protein and low carb. Not having bread around really helped. The doctors are promoting the South Beach type diet (higher protein). Good quality protein (as they said above) and fruits and veggies are the way to go.
Good luck. |

You know...I see your point, but I'm not going to say, "Oh, I'm aging, might as well give in to the flubber!" Oh, no...this sh** is coming off! It's not like I'm hideous, or anything...I get out of bed in the morning, and I'm very slender and well-defined. At night, the flubber arrives! I've got it! Water-retention! Too much salt... |
