I would not fool around with the desert recluses they could really harm someone. The tarantula's are safer, they want to stay out of your way and if the do bite it would be nothing like the desert recluse.

Tarantula bites are relatively harmless, I've been messing with spiders for years. I already took a recluse out of my room about a month ago...not like I start poking them with my finger...

The reluse bite can actually cause a deep wound in the skin leading to infection.

The recluse is not an offensive spider, it will not bite you unless it feels threatened. See above comment of "not like I start poking it with my finger". I know a lot about spiders, thank you for your concern...but I'm sure I will be okay.

We have the brown recluse in Missouri. They are cousins to your recluse. Their bite causes terrible damage. My father has had part of his thigh removed, two different times, from two different bites. He was very ill from it.

I've seen one woman with half of her thigh gone from the bite and another with most of her tricep was gone.

I've been bitten by them two times. I was luckier. I only have a scar on my leg from it. I know other people that have been bitten by them too.

They are very difficult to get rid of because they like to hide so much.

Here's are some pics of their damage. It says that their bit is more

It says that the brown recluse venom is even more potent than that of a rattlesnake.

Again...I know A LOT about spiders, I've studied them for years and years I know well enough how to handle them. Thank you for the concern, but I'm sure I will be fine.flowerforyou

I like wolf spiders. They eat bugs.

Almost all spiders eat bugs. The Recluse does as well. I've been studying insect with emphasis on arachnids for the last 4-5 years, I've handled all domestic spiders lethal and non-lethal...I've even handled exotic spiders like the Camel Spider and others. There are very few offensive spiders that attack without provocation.
