Im starting to wonder if it's true im just curious what others think. For a long portion of my life I have always been alone I thought maybe it will pass sometime. I thought I finally found the one but it was false hope. So that's basically my ? are some people just destined to be alone?

I don't think so, no. What I Do think, however, is if someone is finding themselves in bad relationship after bad relationship, they should be looking at themselves and finding out WHY they are attracting / attracted to the wrong kinds of people.

Like me, for example. I kept dating controlling, paranoid men and couldn't figure out why. Then I took a step back and really LOOKED at myself. It was then that I realized I was TOTALLY lacking in confidence, and therefore both attracted and was attracted to men who would "take care" of me by controlling me. I've been working on confidence ever since.

Maybe you just need to take a look at yourself and consider why you can't find the kind of woman you ACTUALLY want. flowerforyou

the short answer is no. there are essentially an infinite number of activities you can engage yourself with - from aardvark watching to zapper design which will put you in contact with instant electricity. other people, male and female, doing exotic and borderline insane <fill in the blank>, expensive hobbies and free entertainment.

so do whatever you like and have fun doing it. life is short and there are only so many hours in a day.

Probably, but who knows...I always thought the only person that could limit a person was the person in question. Of course then again I'm logical, but then again I hardly think it ever worked against me...

You're 27?

Ok...let's say you live to 85...

that's another 58 years....or 696 months give or take a few...or 20 270 days....

and so far you've had 324 months or 9 855 days...

ummm...how many relationships have you had so far?

Well chances are you have the opportunity of almost double that number ahead of you, to find 'the One'.

'The One'...in a population of at least 150 million...still seems kind of far-fetched.

and that's without doing anything differently.

i am all alone in my own mind. (there is a hollow echo as if you are in a gigantic dark underground cavern. a slight breeze comes from below and to your left. there is the sound of a drip and trickling water. it is too dark to see which way to go clearly.)

Well, that is really just the base population. I haven't even started with narrowing the field, that 150 million is taking into accout all ages. You throw that curveball in and you come out with about 100 million, then you narrow it down even more with job status, education, and continuing education (college)...the end result is about 500 thousand. The chances are roughly .5 out of 100 million.

The math is solid, I worked it out quite a bit ago for fun.

Are you in the US?

Start with 300 mill...that's the pop...then factor in immediate neighbouring countries...and their population...

f*ckit... go global...rofl

Everyone thank you for your feedback you all make excellent points. The mathematics are pretty depressing though but I guess anything could happen.

300 million, about 50/50 as far sexes go...so roughly 150 million men, and 150 million women...considering I am not bisexual I only have a pool of 150 million. Then factoring in the education, age, and jobs. The equation in this example only takes in the US population, it is a personal quirk as to whether you will factor in other countries. My original equation took into account the US, Canada, Ireland, and Australia...I came out with a 6 or so million chance out of a total population of about 100 million, which mathmatically would mean I would have to go on three dates a week with different women for 58 years in order to find 'The One'.

Not to say it is impossible, but mathmatically it is really, really difficult.

Why is the One....the last person you date?

it could be the first person you date out of that pool...

it is like the age old conundrum...

isn't it SO annoying that it is always the person who falls asleep first who is the one who SNORES!
