Brighter

It seems so surreal,
these conversations we have
and how much we care
for one another.

How we once were in
each other's lives but
somehow missed it then,
yet see it now.

Every moment in our travels
having brought us to
this moment in time;
it had to be.

Having crossed paths
with one another on so many occasions,
yet we didn't even know it;
still, here we are.

Only fourteen days ago
we were both in different worlds;
each of us concerned with
what wasn't really there.

And now we've let that go
found each other once again
in something we didn't know,
a love so innocent.

I ask myself if this could be
everything I have wanted;
all that I have needed,
but didn't know it.

It all happened so quickly,
our friendship bloomed
into what was unexpected
but I wouldn't take it back.

I never thought I'd feel
everything that I do now,
or that you'd feel the same
about me too.

I just can't help but smile,
wondering what comes next;
that funny feeling inside,
it just won't go away.

As unexpected as it is, I wouldn't trade what we have for anything. I love you so much! Great poem baby!
