I know we have several Intervention fans here. I just got around to watching this weeks episode.

Basically about a father who was an alcoholic, lost his wife (who was his high school and college sweetheart), his kids, his job, everything......because of drinking. The actual intervention was very dramatic but they finally got him to go. In the end, he was sober 104 days and then died of esophageal cancer.

Anyhow, the bit at the end......where the young son was crying and saying how proud he was that his dad died a "dad" instead of an "alcoholic" just about did me in. So heartbreaking.

Makes a person think about their own choices in life.

Wow..very sad..I just found out I Have Barretts esophagus..which leads to esophagus cancer..i will be having another test done to see if it is,,never heard of this,doctor said its from acid...who knew..anyone know anything about it??

Teresa......I'm not an authority on it, but whenever I need to research something I google it and start with the more respected websites. I always look at many many web pages to make sure that what I am reading holds true. Even then, it's always best to speak to your doc. I'm sorry you are going through this and hope things turn out to be just something you can monitor and keep under control with meds!

I contacted intervention about my ex he was an alcoholic/drug addict...dr. jeckel; /mr. hyde anyway they wanted to do the show contacted me by phone and everything they were hot for this story but you have to get 5 friends and family members....so sad I could not get a group together for him....but in the end I know he would not have went he likes being a loser

I have never seen that show, think I might start watching it though.

It seems to be one of the good shows, that truly tries to help people. Some of the endings break my heart. When you hear the "beach" music at the end you know there is gonna be a good ending. This particular episode had the music but it stopped abruptly and then they told about how the guy had died......so sad!
