Scent of lilacs fill the air
Birds flying with flair
A soft drizzle falls
Everything so green and bright
Ground soft and squishy
As I walk quietly through
Small hand entwined with mine
Eyes wide with wonder
Questions tumble from her lips
Asking what's this?
What's that?
Can I have a bird?
Are worms my friend?
Silly knock knock jokes
Giggles and delightful screams
Pebbles tossed in the stream
Laying down on the bridge
Peeking over the edge
Watching the tiny fish
Lily running in circles around us
Yapping and yipping in the afternoon air
Chasing her tail
A deep sigh of contentment escapes my lips
Nothing could be finer than a day like this
