"The Doctor is in and will see you now" a common phrase for most, but alas in my case; it means HBO is running "Horton Hears a Who". I remember watching this as a child or having my older sister read it to me and getting all jacked up on vicious adrenaline with everyone in the book wanting to "bOIL that dust speCK!"

As I sit here trying to put words to my own remembered disgust at following the crowd just because they had a rhythmic chant that could easily ignite a sense of vengeance I myself had boiling just below my conscience surface and curious of how I could be so easily manipulated and why was I THAT mean too.

That universe Horton so diligently protected was also alive and needing protecting inside ME. I needed to make up my mind whether I wanted to be like Horton or did I want to be like that nasty Kangaroo Woman. I knew them both, but I think I related more to nasty Kangaroo woman because she had POWER, yes it was based on making others appear less and herself appearing grrrrrEAT and ALL KNOWING, but this type of POWER ruled our very lives growing up as it was a well known parental trait that ewwwww, looking back I also carried that potential characteristic. Interesting how appearances can be deceiving. Yet, yet if I would take the time to feel my way through all the feelings and really pay attention to those feelings - REAL remorse could be avoided over an executed impetuous decision.

Yes, I know I'm rambling, but jeepers, I do love children's shows and books that I was just entertained by as a child. But NOW, from an adult mind, my inner child understands the teaching so much better. No that dust speck did not reside on a clover in a jungle somewhere far away, that dust speck lives within everything, including me.

Beautifully expressed. I have often re-read my childhood favorites as an adult and gotten the hidden meaning, or the meaning my child's mind couldn't comprehend. Thanks for putting thoughts into meaningful words....
